Last Few Weeks Before Christmas...

Our classroom is full of Christmas cheer.  We have been working on ornaments for the school Christmas tree and they are looking wonderful! Your child should be able to share with you how they made their first ornament.
Santa Pictures will be taken on Friday.  If you want your child to have his or her picture taken, send in the order form by Friday morning.
Our party will be on December 17th.  A letter listing requested items was sent home today, December 1st.  Please let me know if you cannot send in the items requested and I will make other arrangements.
Elves have taken over our room.  So far they have been fun and they even cleaned up in a few places. The elves really enjoy reading stations, especially when the children read to them.  The children have also enjoyed drawing and writing about their Christmas fun. Hopefully the entire room will be filled with their work by the end of next week.

Thanksgiving Break

We have reached our 67th day of school, so we are over 1/3 of our way through the school year.  The days are going by much too fast.  I guess that happens when you are having a good time.  I love this class and look forward to spending each day with such a delightful group of children.  On our last day of school before break many children said how thankful they were for their families, their school, their class, and their teacher.  As their teacher, I am very thankful to have such great children to teach.

During our Thanksgiving break, I hope you will read everyday. Reading is such a great thing to do when you need a short rest. Also be sure you tell your family how thankful you are for them.

When we return to school, we will begin Lesson 11 (Jamaica Louise James).  I  have put the story up on "Think Central".

Have a wonderful time with your family!
